ABOUT Kids Clothesvine

It was in 2004 when I moved to my small town. I had heard it was one of the poorest counties in my state, and it didn’t take long for me to realize that was true.

A friend had told me about a little boy that was being bullied at school. He was called a number of names because he only had one set of clothes. Most of the time they were dirty and smelled. Like most people I just said, “Oh how terrible,” and did nothing. It haunted me, for years.

Eighteen years later I heard of other stories. Kids were coming to school with no underwear on, no socks on, wearing flip flops in winter because they just didn’t have anything else. The Lord laid it heavily on my heart and said it was time to act.

So, my husband Steve and I began this mission to serve our community. We will be traveling to schools with a store on wheels full of NEW clothing for kids. Children in need will get to shop for FREE! We hope this will be an exciting and memorable experience for them that can help ease any embarrassment they might feel!
